In 2015, Beer Parish Council was successful in its bid for a £10,000 grant (from the Department of Communities & Local Government) to undertake a study and come up with a practical plan of measures to enhance Beer for tourists, businesses and the community.

A Public Meeting was held on 8 September 2015, to establish a Parish Council Steering Group (Advisory Group) for the Coastal Community Team and to begin to explore ideas and business opportunities.

In 2018, Beer Parish Council was successful in obtaining a further grant from the Department of Communities & Local Government, which has enabled the appointment of an Events Coordinator. 

 Beer Coastal Community Team operated as a Parish Council Committee until May 2022 when its organisational status changed to a Parish Council portfolio group: Events & Promotions
